Building Farmer Capacity for Adaptation

At CCADRRA, we know that adaptation is not just about new practices, it’s about helping farmers understand what those practices mean for their production costs and profits. If adaptation doesn’t make financial sense, it won’t last.

That’s why we run hands-on workshops with farmers, bringing agroecology and financial literacy together. In one session, a farmer might learn how to restore soil health, manage water more efficiently, or reduce pests without expensive chemicals. In the next, they’ll work through budgets, compare costs and benefits, and calculate how these practices affect the price of their crops.

The results are powerful. Farmers begin to see adaptation not as an extra burden, but as a smart investment. They reduce input costs, improve yields, and gain the confidence to negotiate better prices. Through farmer field schools and peer learning exchanges, they share knowledge and innovations with each other, multiplying the impact across entire communities.

By combining climate resilience with financial skills, we are helping farmers transform their livelihoods—ensuring that sustainable agriculture is also profitable, and that global food systems remain secure.

Knowledge Bridging & Policy Engagement

We are building a  Knowledge Hub, to connect the realities of farmers, the insights of researchers, and the decisions of policymakers—ensuring that adaptation knowledge doesn’t get stuck in silos.

What we offer:

  • Case studies, toolkits, and policy briefs in accessible formats

  • Farmer-friendly training materials on climate-smart practices

  • Research translation: turning complex studies into actionable insights

  • Policy dialogues and workshops that bring farmers, researchers, and decision-makers together
